Metrics 101 is a free training program designed to help owners, managers, supervisors, and other industry employees to understand and learn about the basic food safety rules that need to be followed at all times while working with leafy greens.


The Metrics 101 Training Program consists of 15 modules, each focused on a different topic such as environmental assets, non-synthetic crop treatments, flooding, and more. Each module includes activities to facilitate learning engagement and quizzes to assess and ensure retention.


The Arizona LGMA food safety practices and metrics are updated annually to address new science and to potential food safety risks since the program was created. Most recently, the Metrics were updated to fully align with the federal United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule (PSR).
