What do you grow on your farm?
Duncan Family Farms is a 100% certified multi-regional organic farm. We have growing operation in Arizona, California, Oregon and New York. We grow a variety of baby tender leaf items for the value added processors that market and sell salad blends. These items include (all baby format) spinach, arugula, kale and spring mix components. We also have a certified organic culinary herb program that includes Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Sage and Chives. We have a few mature items such as Kale, Romaine Hearts, Salanova and Multi-Leaf butter lettuces.
What is your family’s favorite Leafy Greens vegetable?
Our family’s favorite leafy green vegetable is Spinach. We eat salads and smoothies every day and spinach is always included. Spinach may be our favorite but any fruit or vegetable that is on its way out joins the spinach to help reduce food waste and make a healthy smoothie for breakfast.
What is the biggest challenge you face every day?
The biggest challenge I face every day is finding efficient ways to help all of our team members at Duncan Family Farms be successful in their jobs. We have a great team of people that work hard every day to produce healthy, life-giving food and I want to help them be the best they can be and to feel good about coming to work each day.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
My greatest reward is to watch our team be successful and enjoy what they do…Duncan Family Farms motto is Taking Care of the Land. Taking Care of People.
